Senior officers and sub–jurisdictional commanders of the Grand Priory of America gathered in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 15–17, 2013 for mid–year meetings. The Grand Prior’s Advisory and Strategic Planning committees, as well as the Commanders of Commanderies met separately and plenarily to review developments in the United States and Mexico and to plan the Grand Priory of America’s future course.
The meetings were hosted by the Grand Commandery of the South, which used the opportunity of the senior Grand Priory officers’ presence to arrange a gala dinner in honor of H.E. the Chev. George T. Schneider, GCLJ, M.D. This long time Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of the South will be celebrating his 93rd birthday in 2013. Dr. Schneider was presented with the Companionate of Merit award in the rank of Knight Grand Cross, together with a most moving personal letter from our Grand Master, the Marquis of Almazan, commemorating Dr. Schneider’s more than 30 years of service to our Order.
