International Travel Insurance
When traveling internationally it is always advisable to obtain travel insurance to cover trip cancellation, trip delays, lost baggage, illnesses, accidents and medical evacuations. While all of us have some type of health insurance, most foreign countries will require up-front payment of emergency medical services that may or may not be reimbursed by your health insurance carrier at a later date. A serious illness or accident that may require medical evacuation to your home country can be expensive unless insurance is in place to cover the cost.
Please go to www.travelinsurance.com where you will enter your trip costs, dates, number of travelers and desired coverage and this site will present you with a number of different plans, companies and quotes to choose from. The cost of this insurance increases as the trip date gets closer, so the earlier you obtain this coverage the cheaper it will be.
2019 GPC Hotel Reservation Information
The Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa is an Unlimited-Luxury® haven located on the sparkling Sea of Cortez and is the crown jewel of the Baja Peninsula. This AAA Four Diamond resort embraces the elegance of traditional colonial Mexican design and truly reflects the beauty and splendor of Los Cabos. The all-suite Dreams Los Cabos boasts 240 luxury suites, all with ocean views, each finely appointed with exceptional fabrics and superior amenities. Gourmet dining options are served at four à la carte restaurants, a buffet, a grill and a café, while top-shelf spirits are served without limit at five bars & lounges.
The GPC group rate for each person in a couple staying in the same suite is $199 per person per night for a person sharing a room. For a single room occupancy the group rate is $250/night. This rate includes all meals and beverages consumed during your stay. For attendees bringing children or grandchildren, up to two children under twelve years old may stay for free in the same “ocean view junior suite” with them; finally, please consider that these suites may accommodate as many as three adults and one child, in which case the price for each adult would be approximately the same –actually a little less- as the price charged for an adult traveling with his spouse, and the child below twelve – if there is one – would stay at no cost.

In relation to security concerns that you may have concerning traveling to Los Cabos next October, please consider that the most recent travel advisory, issued by the Department of State on April 19, closes with the following sentence in relation to the area where we will be meeting: “There are no restrictions on travel for US government employees in Baja California Sur, which includes tourist areas in Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo and La Paz”.
For your peace of mind, I may add that crime has diminished very substantially in Baja California Sur since early 2018 and that no tourist has ever been hurt in any hotel there.
In brief, you may be confident that we won’t be exposed to any dangerous situation while inside the Dreams (which is a gated resort), or when we visit the Catholic Parish located in the main plaza of San José del Cabo for our Vigil Service on Friday afternoon.
