We in the Commandery of the Southwest are excited to invite you to join us for the 2025 Grand Prioral Council in the beautiful and historic city of San Antonio, Texas, October 30 – November 2, 2025. Our headquarters, the beautiful Hotel Contessa, which is all-suites on the River Walk and with a special St. Lazarus rate of $189/night.
San Antonio was founded in 1722 as a Spanish mission and military outpost and is the oldest municipality in Texas. The city evokes the casual charm of both its Texas and Mexican heritage which is felt as you walk or dine on the riverwalk or city streets. Drop by the historic Menger Hotel and have a drink at the bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited his “Rough Riders” and then see the Alamo. There’s something for everyone – a river boat cruise, lunch or drinks on the river walk or possibly exploring the missions of San Antonio which are UNESCO world heritage sites.
Friday’s Vigil service at St Mary’s Catholic Church precedes our dinner at the historic and celebrated Club Giraud which was built in 1851 as the Urseline Academy. Our white tie gala after the investiture service will be at the venue at the Briscoe Western Art Museum, located next to the Hotel Contessa.
San Antonio International Airport is served by 11 airlines including Delta, American, United, Southwest and more. The airport is only a 15-minute drive to our hotel so come and begin to experience the relaxed ambiance of San Antonio.

For guests traveling on dates not contracted, they would need be booked outside the block at our best available rate. They can then call Reservations at 210-229-9222 to note they will be a stayover reservation. Please see the existing rooming list.
We are able to offer $229 each night for the Riverview rooms requested; only up to 10 would be available. We cannot add these to the booking link but guests can call Reservations to adjust their reservation with this rate.

- Duplicate Names: Include the additional guest’s name for safety.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancel 48 hours before arrival to avoid a one-night room and tax fee. No-shows will be charged to the card on file.
- Deposits: Collected 24 hours prior to arrival for individual pay-on-own bookings.
- Group Cut-Off Date: Please confirm your reservations by Tuesday, September 30, 2025. After this date, rooms not booked will be released.
